Instructions for your first start in the mining world
- 1. Connect standard USB-C cable for power supply
- 2. Scan the QR code on the display with your cell phone or establish a WiFi connection with the Nerd Miner v2 (AP: NerdMinerAP, PW: MineYourCoins)
- 3. A new window will open. In this window select “Configure WiFi”.
- 4. Enter your WLAN SSID (name) and WLAN password
- 5. Enter your own BTC address
- 6. Save configuration
- 7. The Nerd Miner restarts after saving and starts mining after a short time (recognizable by the KH/s hash rate at the bottom left)
Keys
- the buttons are located with the USB-C port on the right:
Top button:
- One click: change screen view
- Hold for 5 seconds: configurations are reset to factory settings and the Nerd Miner restarts.
- Hold and switch on: Enter configuration mode and edit current configuration via Wifi. You can change or review your settings.
Button Down:
- One click: turn the screen off or on again
- Double click: Change orientation (default is USB-C to the right)
Fan connection (if available)
For connection to 3.3V (silent):
- Orientation Nerd Miner: USB port on the left side
- Red wire: Lower header - the first pin from the left
- Black wire: Top header - the second pin from the left
For connection to 5V (better cooling performance):
- Orientation Nerd Miner: USB port on the left side
- Red wire: Top header - the first pin from the left
- Black wire: Top header - the second pin from the left
Display stats
- KH/s : Current hashing speed
- Block Templates : Number of different blocks attempted to confirm
- Million Hashes : Total number of hashes tested
- Valid Blocks : Number of blockers found. If a block is found, the block reward of 6.25 BTC will be paid out to your stored Bitcoin address
- Current Block : Describes the height of the current block in the Bitcoin blockchain
- EH/s : the EH/s describes the current hashrate of the entire Bitcoin network. So the hashrate of all miners worldwide combined.
- Difficulty : Indicates the level of difficulty in Bitcoin mining. This means that you can use the mining difficulty to determine how complex it is to calculate a new Bitcoin block.
- Blocks : Describes the number of blocks until the next Bitcoin Halving in 2024
- 16 Bits Share and "32 Bits Share ": A 16 Bits Share is a hash that starts with 00. A 32 Bits Share is a hash that starts with 0000."
